Howard Weinberg is a management consultant focused on helping clients learning to solve their most important growth challenges. For 16 years, he was a Principal in Deloitte Consulting where he led several areas of the consulting practice including Growth and Innovation.
Representative assignments have included the innovation strategy for a global payments network, ten-year investment planning for a diversified healthcare company, an acquisition strategy to reposition a specialty pharmaceuticals manufacturer, product launch planning for two high-tech products, the launch of an award-winning system for international retailers, growth strategies for a leading healthcare payor, and growth strategies for companies in life sciences, financial services, telecoms, high-tech and government.
Howard is also an innovator in breakthrough methods. He led Deloitte’s acquisition and global use of DeepDive™ ─ an acclaimed method for team problem-solving ─ in dozens of projects with clients around the world. In innovation theory, he created the technique of mapping “jobs-to-be-done”, and the article he co-authored with his colleague, Michael E. Raynor, “Beyond Segmentation”, has been one of the most requested reprints from Marketing Management magazine.
Before joining Deloitte, he was a senior executive at another consulting firm, head of Information Systems for a leading investment bank, and a software engineer in high-tech instrumentation where he developed patented pattern recognition technology.
Howard is a frequent speaker and writer on growth, innovation and organizational change and serves on the Dean’s Advisory Board of Boston College Carroll School of Management where he is a Fellow of the Center for Corporate Social Responsibility.
Howard has an undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College and MBA from Columbia Business School. He is Chairman of Pilobolus Dance Theater, for 50 years one of the most innovative arts organizations in the U.S.
